About Me
Hello! I’m Sophie, the maker behind ‘Sophie Jayne Studio’. I’ve always been drawn to creating. Even as a child, I was constantly sewing, stitching, or crafting something new from any fabric or ribbon I could find. That early love of making naturally grew into a real passion and eventually led me to study Fashion Design at university. It was there — experimenting with fabrics, learning new techniques, and bringing ideas to life — that I realised just how much I adored the craft of dressmaking.
After graduating in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design, I began my career working alongside a renowned bridal designer in London. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills in couture sewing, garment construction, and working with intricate fabrics, as well as adding those delicate hand-finished details that make a gown truly special.
But my first spark of inspiration for bridal came long before that. My mum made her own wedding dress, and I remember being completely captivated by it — the stories, the fabric, and the idea that something so meaningful could be created entirely by hand.
Today, I work from my cosy home studio in Kent, offering a calm, personal experience from start to finish. Whether you’re looking to perfect the fit of your gown or bring a bespoke design to life, I take pride in creating pieces that feel uniquely you — crafted with care, precision, and a whole lot of joy.
There’s something truly special about being part of a bride’s journey — watching a gown take shape and seeing the excitement build with each fitting. It’s a privilege to help someone feel their very best on such an important day.
